Archie Hinchliffe Disability Intervention (AHDI) Attends Inclusive Advocacy Training in Chongwe

Archie Hinchliffe Disability Intervention (AHDI) participated in a five-day Inclusive Advocacy Training held in Chongwe, with a focus on identifying out-of-school children and promoting supportive, inclusive education transitions.

The training brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from the Zambia Association on Employment for Persons with Disabilities (ZAEPD), Disability Rights Watch (DRW), the Zambia Federation of Disability Organizations (ZAFOD), Zambia Association for Parents of Children with Disabilities (ZAPCD),and the Chongwe Network.

Participants discussed and explored:

Barriers to accessing education for children with disabilities

The importance of rights-based education policies

The critical roles played by families and Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) in ensuring children not only start school but also progress and stay in school.

The organizer of the training was the Nowergian Association of the Disabled (NAD) .

The training was facilitated by Ugandan consultant, with support from ZAFOD and NAD.

This collaborative and transformative training laid the foundation for rolling out advocacy efforts.

Using Module 3, this session built upon lessons and momentum from previous trainings, marking a continued commitment to inclusive education and advocacy for children with disabilities.
