courtesy calls in Chibombo, Luangwa, and Rufunsa

Archie Hinchcliffe Disability Intervention (AHDI) team conducted successful courtesy calls in Chibombo, Luangwa, and Rufunsa to introduce the Collective Action for Disability Rights (CADiR) Project from 17th to 24th July 2025. The visits were led by AHDI’s Executive Director and Board Chairperson, alongside project staff, and engaged District Commissioners, Health Directors, District Education Board Secretaries and traditional leaders.

The aim of the courtesy calls was to build relationships and promote inclusive development for persons with disabilities. The CADiR project was warmly received in all three districts, with government line ministries and leaders showing strong commitment to collaboration.

Stakeholders recommended target schools and communities, while traditional leaders emphasized the importance of continuous engagement and local adaptation.

The key outcomes included: sharing of organisational and project profiles, identification of focal points persons and collection of contacts for future coordination.

The visit marked an important milestone in promoting disability rights and strengthening access to health, education, and economic empowerment in the target districts. AHDI thanks all district authorities, ministries, and traditional leaders for their support and look forward to the next steps.
